Drinks Over Dearborn - Wine Tasting

April 2010

Adding another wonderful event to CFO's calendar, Drinks Over Dearborn was nothing short of a success.  Kyle McHugh, our host and guide throughout the evening’s wine tasting, had great charisma, extensive knowledge of wine, and a sense of humor to keep the atmosphere light and fun.

Walking through the door we were greeted by glasses of sparkling wine and shortly thereafter we were given a brief lesson on wine tasting to help us get the most out of our wine.  The progression of wines began with a light sparkling wine and moved to heavier and darker colored varietals.  After each new wine was poured, a brief and well timed introduction was given by Kyle helping everyone identify specific textures and tones of the wine.  When his intro came to an end, Kyle kept the groups conversations flowing and you never felt like you missed a beat.

This was truly a strong networking event giving members the opportunity to meet new individuals and reconnect with past members.  Many great conversations took place, wonderful wines sampled, and new connections made.  We look forward to making this an annual event for CFO and its members.

Drinks Over Dearborn - Beer Tasting

August 2010

Drinks Over Dearborn has done it again!  Our Events Chair, Voula Moragiannis organized a wonderful beer tasting with Kyle McHugh, the owner and guide of Drinks Over Dearborn.  He was superb in his presentation and explanation for proper beer tasting.   We all had the pleasure of sampling several beers from a variety of places ranging from local to international breweries.  The flavors and styles were fun and wide-ranging.

Banana Bread Beer tasted exactly as it sounds, which surprised most of those who sampled this beer.  Hops was one of many characteristics of beer discussed throughout the evening and HopDevil helped give all tasters the full experience of a Hops style of beer.

We had a wonderful turnout and there were great opportunities to network with each other throughout the event.  If you have any questions regarding CFO please contact cfo@depaul.edu

Thanks for looking and we hope to see you at the next CFO event!
