Succeeding in International Mergers & Acquisitions
November 2, 2007, 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
We were excited to host a guest speaker seminar featuring senior executives from Siemens AG, titled – "Succeeding in International Mergers & Acquisitions". CFO co-sponsored the event with the Driehaus College of Business and the Department of Management.

The program highlighted two specific areas of mergers and acquisitions. The first section, led by Kai Lucks, Head of Corporate M&A Integration, Siemens AG, focused on transatlantic and transpacific M&A concepts and concerns. The second section, led by Randy Zwirn, President of Siemens AG Power Generation, discussed Siemens’ historic acquisition of Westinghouse.

In addition, Dr. Ali Fatemi, the department of Finance Chair, and Dr. Gerhard Plaschka, from the department of Management, moderated a spirited question and answer session.

Golf Outing
This winter CFO co-sponsored an event with the DePaul Golf team. The event included golf instruction and video taping of your swing. As one of the most highly respected golf professionals and teachers, Betty Kaufmann is in her sixth season as the head men's golf coach at DePaul. Following the golf instructions, participants were invited to join Coach Kaufmann and team to watch the men's basketball team play on ESPN. Pizza and refreshments were served.


DePaul Basketball Game
Circle of Finance Opportunities (CFO) cheered on first year head coach Jerry Wainwright and the DePaul Blue Demons men's basketball team to a Big East Conference victory over Seton Hall. The basketball game was sponsored by DePaul's Driehaus College of Business. This was CFO's third year supporting Blue Demon basketball.
