The Center for Financial Services Public Sector Bankruptcy Crisis Conference a success

On Monday, October 22 from 3:30-5:00 The Center for Financial Services and The Institute for Truth in Accounting hosted an open program, The Public Sector ‘Bankruptcy Crisis, in Room 8005 at DePaul University, 1 East Jackson. Featured speakers included Bridget Gainer, Cook County Commissioner, who is leading the effort to reform Cook County’s pension system. It is currently being televised on CAN-TV.  Ann Sherman as expert testimony in IPO process

Ann Sherman, associate professor of finance at DePaul, testified before a U.S. Senate Banking Committee Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The hearing focused on whether the initial public offering (IPO) process is transparent enough for ordinary investors and was prompted by concerns over a lack of disclosure in Facebook Inc.’s controversial IPO last month.

Finance Research Seminars 2011-2012

DePaul's Finance Department and the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago sponsor a joint research seminar bringing in leading scholars in finance.  The presentations will be available in hard copy both at DePaul and at the Fed.

Location: Seminars at DePaul will be held in the Finance Department conference room, 6103 DePaul Center, 1 E. Jackson Blvd.  Seminars will also be held at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 130 S.  LaSalle Street.
