I chose my major because... I always wanted to go to commerce school but was not sure what department. First, I figured out what I do not want to do then I figured out what I want to do.
My favorite thing to do on campus is... laying down on the Quad when it is warm outside and going to the gym or some student organizations.
I decided to attend DePaul because... of excellent education and many social activities. It also has a great location. Since I am an international student, I picked DePaul from many other choices. The environment also affected me a lot. I felt like I was at home.
The learning environment here at DePaul is... positive. They want you to be successful at DePaul and they have organizations to help you do better.
My favorite professor at DePaul is... Thomas Secco. He was my English 103 teacher. He is funny and friendly and you still get what you need from that class.
The class I most enjoyed here was... microeconomics with Anthony Krautman. It was totally helpful to understand the basics of microeconomics.
When I have free time, I like to... hang out with my friends, go to see a movie or have dinner. The beach is one of the best places to go too. You can lay down or go running.
My favorite thing to do off campus is... shopping. Downtown is the best place for shopping and it is so much fun.
One thing I didn’t know about DePaul before coming was... that it was a really diverse school. You can meet many different people from different races, nations, and religions. It gives you a different point of view about people.
Here, the diversity of students, faculty and staff... was a big surprise for me. Coming to a diverse school as an international student school made my transition easier to college. You do not learn only from your teachers but from other students as well.
The greatest thing about going to school in Chicago is... the fact that Chicago is a beautiful city and there is always something to do. The parks, museums and shops are fantastic.
DePaul is the ideal place to pursue your degree as an international student because... it has a great location and they gave me a Presidential Scholarship. I think DePaul was the best choice that I had because they have a good commerce school and that is the area that I wanted to go for.
The one thing I'd like to tell international students considering attending DePaul is... DePaul is a great school that you can find many things at once. Good education, nice area, social activities… They also have an English Program that you could start before you go to college and make your transition easier.
The best thing about DePaul is... people. You meet amazing people. I love my roommates and I met them on my first year and we still live together. Students, faculty and staff are awesome too. They help you as much as they can.
After graduation, I plan to... work as an investment banker and continue my education.
Students considering DePaul should... come and visit the campus if you can. It can really change your mind. I was confused where to go to school until I came to visit DePaul. After that I knew this school was a best fit for me. I am glad I chose DePaul and I am sure you would think the same if you become a part of it.
